1. Use of thermo camera to find sources of heat due to loose connections.

This is one of the most important faults which can cause fire due to excess heat.

Breakers can not sense this fault so they will not isolate the problem

The Thermo camera is reliable and easy to use.

Thermo camera detects heat sources and present the level of heat with different colours.

This type of test is done without disconnecting anything.

The temperature of the various similar points are compared to find differences

The severity of the fault can be determined from temperature differences as follows.

• 1 to 3 ^o C Indicates possible deficiency which must be investigated
• 4 to 15 ^o C Indicates deficiency which must be repaired as soon as possible
• > 16 ^o C Indicates major deficiency which must be repaired immediately

2. Identification of extraordinary smells which indicate hot insulations
3. Replacement of parts reaching their operational limits as per manufacturer guidelines
4. Use of analytics provided by Supervisory software to detect anomalies and use real time data to identify the cause of the anomaly
